How it works

A simple repair process with no technical runaround

You will know what is being reviewed, what the repair includes, and what it costs before work begins.

Start with your website address
  1. 1

    Send your website

Share the page address and describe what is not working as expected.

  2. 2

    Receive a clear recommendation

I identify the likely problem and confirm which service package fits.

  3. 3

    Approve the repair

Once access and scope are confirmed, I make and test the agreed changes.

  4. 4

    Review the finished work

You receive a summary of the changes and one included revision when applicable.

Example repair scenario

Correcting mobile overflow without rebuilding the website

A page may look acceptable on a desktop but extend beyond the right edge of a phone screen because an image, table, or fixed-width element is wider than the device.

  • Identify the element causing horizontal scrolling
  • Adjust the HTML or CSS so content fits smaller screens
  • Test the correction at common phone and desktop widths
  • Preserve the existing design wherever practical

Additional-page pricing: The $25 add-on applies only when the same approved repair can be reused on another similar page. Different issues, layouts, troubleshooting, plugins, forms, databases, or custom scripting require a separate quote.

A helpful alternative to starting over

Built for small businesses that need practical help

I created Small Site Rescue to help small-business owners who already have a website but need assistance correcting specific problems. Many websites do not need to be completely rebuilt—they simply need someone to identify what is wrong and make the appropriate repairs.

I focus on practical HTML, CSS, mobile-layout, navigation, and formatting issues. I’ll communicate clearly, explain the recommended solution in plain language, and confirm the price and scope before any work begins.

Frequently asked questions

What to expect before work begins

These answers explain the standard scope. Your written quote and signed agreement will control the details of a specific project.

What counts as one defined issue?

One clearly identified HTML or CSS problem on one existing page, such as mobile overflow, an alignment problem, or an oversized image. A different problem is a separate issue.

What does the $25 additional-page charge include?

It applies only when the same approved repair can be reused on another similar page without materially different coding or troubleshooting.

Do you work with WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, or custom HTML?

Front-end problems are reviewed individually. The service is best suited to visible HTML, CSS, layout, navigation, image, table, spacing, and formatting issues. Platform, plugin, database, security, or server problems may require a separate specialist.

Will you need access to my website?

A review normally does not require access. Repairs usually require temporary access to the website files, editor, or hosting account. Temporary credentials are preferred and should be removed when the project is complete.

Do you make a backup before changing anything?

A backup is created when technically possible, but customers should also maintain a current independent backup of their website and hosting account.

How long does a typical repair take?

Timing depends on the issue, website access, and current workload. The expected schedule is confirmed in writing before work begins.

What happens if the problem is outside your services?

You will be told before paid repair work begins. When appropriate, the project may be quoted separately or you may be advised to contact a platform, hosting, security, or development specialist.

Do you build complete websites?

Small Site Rescue is primarily focused on diagnosing and repairing existing websites. Larger redesigns or new builds are reviewed separately and may not be accepted.

How does the $59 Small-Site Cleanup credit work?

When you purchase the $59 Mobile Website Review and book a qualifying Small-Site Cleanup within 30 days of receiving the review, the full $59 is credited toward Small Site Rescue labor. The credit applies once per website and project, has no cash value, and does not cover third-party expenses.

What is included with ongoing Website Care?

Website Care includes up to one hour per month for routine content updates, minor front-end adjustments, and troubleshooting within the agreed scope. Unused time does not roll over. Additional approved time is billed at $50 per hour, while redesigns, new features, malware removal, databases, ecommerce work, and custom programming require a separate written quote.

What is the difference between the $69 and $59 Website Care options?

Both plans include up to one hour of Website Care per month. The $69 option is flexible month-to-month billing, while the $59 monthly rate requires a 12-month service commitment and is billed monthly.
